Bing Maps not working correctly with Firefox
Up until recently Bing Maps in the UK has the option to display Ordnance Suvey Maps and the function to measure distance.
Now, using Firefox, Bing Maps display a Beta version with very limited functionality. Using Microsoft Edge, Bing Maps have all the functionality that I expect.
Has something changed within Firefox that has caused this problem? Is there something that can be done to allow Bing Maps to work correctly from within Firefox?

With respect, that doesn't answer the question. Until recently Bing Maps have been displaying correctly in Firefox, so what has changed and can it be rectified?
Hi John
I have just tried Bing Maps here in Firefox and the option to view an Ordnance Survey map was available.
Can you see if this link works for you?
https://www.bing.com/maps?cp=51.165712%7E-4.194573&lvl=14.2&style=s
It should show an Ordnance Survey map of part of North Devon.
I had to go into setting and change Country/region to UK to get it. see screenshots
Thank you Paul, I tried your link but to no avail. A beta version again, see attached.
jonzn4SUSE,
Where do you find the Settings that you mentioned. I haven't found them yet.
Here. see screenshot
I'm afraid not, sorry, see screen shot.
Already set to United Kingdom and Bing Maps loading a Beta Version. I think it has to be something else that has changed in a recent version of Firefox.
I ought to try going back a version at a time to see when things changed.
I don't know how to step back to earlier versions though.
This is a technical question regarding something that has recently gone wrong with Firefox. I have had, see above, well intentioned replies that assume that my problem is not knowing how to drive Firefox.
I must say outright that I do know how to operate Firefox. My problem is that having used Bing Maps, via Firefox for some years, now Bing Maps are suddenly not working as they usually do (displaying a Beta version without the normal functionality). Yet that same search term through Edge brings up a fully working version of Bing Maps with all the usual bells and whistles.
My question to the techies amongst you: What has channged it recent updates that would have caused this problem? and What, if anything, can be done to put this right.
I do not recall the last time that I had to use a browser other than Firefox. It is a pain to have to use two browsers, when up until recently I have been able to do everything I need to do using only Firefox.
So please, think outside the box and see if you can find out what/where the problem lies.
I apologise if this is rather harsh but frustration rules for the moment.
Hi John
If you go to about:support and search on that page (ctrl+F) for "browser.search.region" - does it return GB?
I am in the UK myself and Bing Maps allows me to see Ordnance Survey maps.
Hello Paul, Thank you for your reply, it does show GB. See attached screen shot.
I am also using Firefox version 142.0 Firefox Release

Windows home or pro? Are you running any security software besides MS Defender? If Windows Pro version, try testing in Windows Sandbox (VM) to see if you have the same issue. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/
Did you try with Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-4troubleshoot-modesf5safe-modesf
Windows 11 Pro, see attached screenshot
Problem still exists in Troubleshooting Mode.
I am not at all sure what to do with the Sandbox thing As Bing Maps displays and operates with full functionality through Microsoft Edge, I can't see that there is a problem with Windows.
