Last couple of days all deleted e-mail keeps downloading every time I check for new e-mail, after it gets deleted, it downloads again with new e- mail, service provider does not seem to have an answer and thinks issue is on my end, as this goes on and on, there is more and more to delete every time I check for new e-mail. Is the the problem on my end? Nothing has changed on my desktop PC, it appears it started out of nowhere.

For POP accounts, thunderbird has a file, popstate.dat, in the account folder. this file is updated after every download to prevent downloading previous messages. It may be that the file is read-only and not updating, or it may be that an antivirus or VPN or other software is interrupting the update. I suggest checking to see if that file is being updated. My guess is that is is not.
