E-mail Settings and Auto Refill

I think I have two issues: 1: When I tried to send an e-mail to seller on Craigslist, the auto-populate used an old, obsolete e-mail address. I do have things saved from that e-mail, but I went into address book and deleted that address and also went into Firefox setting to autofill, though it only had home address not e-mail address. I also went to Firefox to delete something else that the internet said to delete so autofill would stop with old address.

Problem 2: In my Thunderbird e-mail I do have three e-mails that show, one for normal, one for junk, and the old one. The old one has a yellow star by it. I have old emails I like to look back on but maybe it would just be easier to delete the whole thing. Because when I tried to send an email to the seller, it still populated the old address (though I changed the name on the card, thinking I could fool it). So now in just has the word discontinued in the TO: line. I would like to keep this old e-mail information, but ditch the e-mail address and make my g-mail the default. I didn't know how to do that. I'm assuming that's what the star is in the tree by the three email addresses (the yellow star is on the obsolete e-mail, which I assume is why it auto populates that one). Is there a way to ditch that e-mail address of gunnyandburlap but keep the e-mails in that account? And what did I not do right to get it out of the auto-fill on the TO: line of the new e-mail I tried to send? I thought I was doing well to delete it from all my address books, but that didn't do it.

I would appreciate any help you could give me. I do better if you give me a 1. 2. 3. approach, as I'm old. Thank you. N.H.

I do not understand allof what you say, but the fact there is a yellow star says the address is in your address book. Whilst ever the email address is on your address book it will be offered for autofill So remove the address book entry to that email address. It will not affect the emails existence. So click the star and select delete from the options that appear instead of edit.
