New Account Process Hangs (accounthub)
I'm running Thunderbird 140.1.0esr 64-bit on Windows 11, all up to date. I've tried several times to add a new account to receive email to the webmaster for my website. The email address is set up with my web host. I want to add the account so that I can test but the process hangs.
From the main page I choose Tools > Account Settings > New Account > Mail Account then provide the required full name and email address then click Continue. I get what appears to be a screen indicating that processing is taking place (the rotating circle) but it never concludes.
I used Webmaster as the user name and webmaster@mydomainname.com.
Can anyone suggest what I might do to fix this?

click to settings>general and UNtick the option to use the new experimental setup - and then restart your email setup
Automatic account configuration most likely won't work for a custom domain. Try manual account configuration instead. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/manual-account-configuration
Note, you'll have to obtain the email server settings as required by your hosting provider. Check with them.
Thanks for the response, David.
Can you be a bit more specific about the box that needs unticking?
I couldn't find anything that I could identify as relating to the esr version. Should I download and install the non-experimental version?
Thanks, again!!!

Thanks, David.
That took care of it. I now have the new account set up but not yet sending and receiving email. I think that might have to do with my Ionos web host.
