Tbird vs Outlook 2021

more options

I'm currently on Office Outlook 2021......something happened and the license became invalid....according to Msoft.....I will have to re-purchase.......bought if it at huge discount on ebay so should have expected this... I'm investigating moving to Tbird.....but I have some questions.... 1. The importation of PST file seems rather complicated....is there an easy way to do this...??? 2. In Outlook I use the email....calendar....and notes.....I have a lot of notes as this is how I keep track of what I do for my clients......If somehow I import my PST file into Tbird....does all the email...calendar and notes come with it or just emails...??? 3. I POP Gmail into Outlook....but Gmail requires an App Password......can Tbird handle this..??? 4. My current PST file is about 3gb in size....Can Tbird handle this large amount of data..???

Thanks in advance for any assistance the community can offer... Steve

Hello there We have read that question We try to help.

To try here to answer on your questions :

1. No, but PST is oke to transfer but only with the use of tools you can import them into to Thunderbird.Thunderbird use mbox or maildir. Import or export tools are build in Thunderbird import export tools ng add on https://addons.thunderbird.net/nl/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools-ng/?src=ss

2. No,calander functions like reminders do not , email files do.

3. Yes. in the latest release version it is oké to work with gmail passwords but you do need to work with Oauth2 .https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/releases/

4. Yes and no , yes it is possible but the standard size of 2 gb is the limit for the program. If you like to transfer big loads then you can copy the entire profile map and hope to get it in by Thunderbird by regonising of the program / file import.Or the use of a big file tool can help.

Yes Thunderbird has a build in import tool that can import from extern devices with that files from the profile map.

I recommend the use of a good back up first , and it depends on the quality of the system for how long it takes and if the complete process do work as it suppose to do, then.
