Thunderbird is an e-mail client. It sends and receives messages to and from accounts that exist at e-mail service providers. Google is the provider of gmail accounts. Spectrum provides accounts to Spectrum customers. Mozilla and Thunderbird do not provide accounts.

You access e-mail accounts from Thunderbird by entering information about those accounts in Thunderbird, as you started (finished?) to do with your gmail account. If you want to use your Spectrum account in Thunderbird, you must go through that process with the settings for your Spectrum account.

When you asked Spectrum about server settings for *Thunderbird*, apparently you all thought of Thunderbird as a third-party account. It is not that. Spectrum should be able to help if you ask them for *Spectrum’s* server settings. But David posted them above so you don’t have to.

If you have a Spectrum account, do you have the e-mail address and password for it? With that information, you can start setting up your Spectrum account (not a Thunderbird account) in Thunderbird.

You do not need twc.com. David provided the link to Spectrum’s web mail. Can you use that link and log in to your Spectrum e-mail account?

If you can, then we will know that you have a working Spectrum account and we can help you set it up in Thunderbird, using the settings that David has provided.

By the way, a Thunderbird e-mail service is in development. Someday, it will be possible to have a Thunderbird account.
