Passkey worthless BS
Trying to log into Amazon and Firefox is request a Passkey. I selected to log in with my usually password and the passkey request will not go away...WTF Firefox this is total bs that this type of request is being even suggested when I have a password, pin and phone verification to already login.

Hi Rod, I think Firefox will add a little line about a Passkey for sites that say they support it. I'm not aware of a way to turn that off for people who never use passkeys, but maybe someone else knows of a method.
If you are getting a more dramatic popup, hmm, that would be new. I have not seen that. However, I have Firefox set to not autofill logins, it just shows me choices in a drop-down and I choose the one I want to use. If you want to try that setting:
(1) Open the Settings page, either:
- 3-bar main menu button > Settings
- (menu bar or Alt+T) Tools > Settings
(2) In the tiny search box in the page, slowly type fill to pull up the password section
(3) Un-check (clear) the box for "Fill usernames and passwords automatically"
Now Firefox should allow you to type in the form manually (or select from the drop-down, if relevant).
I found the link "Manage Passkeys in System Settings", after following steps 1 and 2 from jscher2000. I was able to remove Amazon passkey request.
Did not work still comes up with Passkey requirement for a login that I have not passkey...Firefox needs to get their head out of their ass and fix this BS.
Hi
This does not look like an issue with Firefox but a security feature added by the website that you are trying to view.
EDIT: Unfortunately, I have had the "Making sure it's you" popup even with the "fix" below. Hopefully someone with more HTML knowledge might be able to find a solution within the about:config page.
Hey there Rod, just in case you have yet to find the one Mozilla article that depicts how to disable the new-ish security feature that requests you pin (the windows security popup from Firefox that requests your system pin as a passkey) I found this post:
that states to modify the about:config rule "signon.management.page.os-auth.enabled" to remove this prompt. The newer versions of Firefox do not seem to have this rule available, and once I added it to the config I have not been notified by windows security that Firefox wants me to use my pin to view my Amazon account details (regardless of the "true" or "false" value associated with the rule). Not sure if this will solve your problem, but I believe that it has confused my instance of Firefox enough to prevent the popup from occurring (at least for now). You can add the rule by typing the rule name in the about:config search bar, selecting "Boolean", and then pressing the plus button at the end of the bar.
