Thunderbird will not let me reply to email.

John Bender

Thunderbird will not let me reply to email. I try to reply and I get this box: "ESMTP not available" (whatever that means). Over the years I have been using and donating to this service but this keeps dysfunction keeps happening. I am frustrated and a bit angry. It doesn't seem appropriate. I do not know how to fix it. It is not my job to know how to fix it. I am an artist and a writer. I do my job. I am not a tech person. - JohnB

Please remember that you are sending messages through a complex internet network. Thunderbird serves as your agent and reported there is an error in the network. That is not a Thunderbird failing; it's doing its job of reporting error notifications to you. It is not Thunderbird's job to fix it. It is your job to contact your email provider's service desk to get information on why their server is not available. The ESTMP server i the server provided to you by your email provider to dispatch your message. Thunderbird reported that it is not (or was not) available.
