changing font color in a reply

I've used TB for years, but never had this problem until I had to download and install the latest version (after one of my laptops crapped out). When replying to an email, everything works correctly EXCEPT when I try to change the color of my typed text, it will not display the new color. I have no idea if it's changed on the recipient's end or not, but it always used to show the new color on my screen. Everything else seems to working beautifully, as usual . . .

The following steps might be helpful: "Settings" > "General" > "Language & Appearance" section > "Fonts & Colors" section > "Colors..." > "Override the colors specified by the content with my selection above:" > choose "Never" or "Only with High Contrast themes" > "OK".

The following steps might be helpful: "Settings" > "General" > "Language & Appearance" section > "Fonts & Colors" section > "Colors..." > "Override the colors specified by the content with my selection above:" > choose "Never" or "Only with High Contrast themes" > "OK".
