Is/Could it possible to pin 'Favourites' in Thunderbird?
I can't find a way to pin my 'Favourites' panel in Thunderbird. If it's not possible, then this can be regarded as a feature request. I have a few (4) definite 'Favourites' in my list, which I regularly have to move messages to. Since I have several email accounts, some of which have largish folder trees, I often scroll down to a different account, find I need to move a message to a 'Favourite' and then have to scroll all the way back up to locate the folder. In fact, I often go to the folder directly, rather than go all the way back to 'Favourites'. Making the idea of 'Favourites' a little redundant. Outlook has a simple 'Pin Favourites' feature that keeps the pane visible, even if the other folders are scrolled down. I find this incredibly useful, and would really like this ability in Thunderbird.

If not done already, you could untick unified folders and then retick it. Thunderbird lists folders in the order created. That would let you have favorites at the top of the folder pane and account folders beneath.

I've tried that, but it didn't help with this issue. There is actually an option to move specific folder sets up or down in the menu for that pane. So my 'Favourite folders' are displayed at the top of everything. But the point is that when I scroll down to see some of my other accounts, the whole of the 'Favourites' panel scrolls off the top of the window. Making hard to simply drag a message from my 'work' account into my 'accounts' (favourite) folder. Or from my Google Play account into my 'Steam and Games' (favourite) folder.
Another interesting suggestion/work-around; but it still does not resolve the original issue! I don't want to be using my keyboard when reading/filing messages. How quaint! But it's also worse than right clicking and navigating through the 'move to' menus. I don't want to be navigating through 3 layers of menus, scrolling back up to the top of the folder tree, or typing in things to perform frequent moves of emails. They are passable alternatives which certainly work. But the fact is that in the Outlook I use for work, it's a zero-effort and zero-thought task to move any item from any account into a Favourite folder, and in Thunderbird it just isn't.
