I installed Thunderbird for Android today on my Moto g stylus. I used the QR code to import the settings from Thunderbird on my Windows 10 laptop. In general, things seem to be working, but outgoing messages are not being copied to the "sent" folder. I can see older "sent" messages that were sent from my Windows 10 Thunderbird, but no sent messages that originated from my phone. I have an IMAP mail server.

Chosen solution

Through trial and error, I finally found the solution to my question.

Go to Settings, select the desired account name, then select "Folders." You will see "auto-expand," then "show only subscribed," then a list of folder names. Most of them will say automatic in italics underneath the name.

Find "Sent folder," click on it, and a popup will be displayed, allowing you to choose a folder name. Unselect Automatic (None) and select Sent. There is no OK button, so go back using the back navigation button, not the cancel button.

"Settings" > "Accounts" section > tap the account you want to configure > "Sending mail" > tick "Upload sent messages (Upload sent messages to Sent folder after sending)".
