Thunderbird 12

  • If you use a password manager, Android will now use it to automatically fill in your password when you add a new account.

Older Releases

Thunderbird 11

  • Mail folders are easier to navigate.
  • Algorithmic darkening makes reading emails easier in dark mode.
  • Thunderbird 11.1 : Selected/read/unread message states are now easier to distinguish visually.
  • You can still see font settings if you search for font in Settings. This will be removed in a future Thunderbird release. Please use the Android operating system font size settings instead.

Thunderbird 10

  • You can now empty your Spam folder by tapping Empty Spam in the Spam folder's menu (also known as the kebab menu because the 3 vertical dots resemble a kebab).
  • On Android 10 or older, you now have an option to use the system theme.
    1. Tap at the top left > tap the gear icon:gear icon at the bottom left.
    2. Tap General settings > tap Display > tap Use system default under Theme

Thunderbird 9

  • Initial Android 15 support.
  • Thunderbird attempts to use your email provider's auto configuration database. If it fails it, it uses Mozilla's database.
