installing the program on the C drive but so that all data and emails are on the D drive - how to do it?

at the moment I normally have Thunderbird installed on the C drive but I need to reinstall it on a fresh system (having previously moved mail settings and profiles to the D drive, the program itself wants it to be on the C drive again), how do I do it?

Are you saying the profile is on drive D? If so, after starting thunderbird, do this:

  1. click help>troubleshootinginformation
  2. scroll down to 'profiles' in left side and click 'about:profiles'
  3. click 'create profile' button'
  4. click next
  5. enter short name for profile, such as PROFILED and click the choose button to locate and select the profile on D.
  6. click finish and then launch
