Slow down after latest update of thunderbird

We are running Thunderbird Supernova 115.3.3 (64-bit). Update installed about a week ago. Since then, it takes about 45 seconds to a minute for any email message to send. This is happening on multiple computers. Any advice to speed it up again?

Start Windows in safe mode, then test TB performance. Any difference?
