Can't connect to Gmail

After turning on 2-step verification on my gmail account. I can't connect. I keep getting an imap error. Thunderbird is set to Oauth2. The gmail server is imap. Every suggestion I have found hasn't worked. I even updated to Supernova and that didn't help.
