I am using a Mac with Big Sur (macOS Monterey Version 12.7), and my email is POP, using Thunderbird Version 115.2.3. The ""Get Message" option in the left of the menu bar does not work when Thunderbird is first loaded. It only seems to retrieve my messages after I use the "GET NEW MESSAGES" under FILE. It has no point if it does not work. I am thus forced to use "GET NEW MESSAGES" under FILE in order to retrieve my email.

FWIW, The ""Get Message" option in the left of the menu bar only gets for the current account.

As I understand it, to get messages for all accounts, "get messages" in the toolbar at the top will retrieve for all accounts. Right+click in the toolbar and pick customize

I am only retrieving messages for my account, and it should retrieve my emails. But the "get messages" in the toolbar at the top only works after I have already used "GET NEW MESSAGES" under FILE for the account in question. It shows "Done" at the bottom of the screen but it did nothing as far as I can see. It does not work when the program is first loaded. Must be an initialization issue.
