My thunderbird works okay, but when I select emails from imbox folder to delete it takes too long. I researched to find the problem and the only option I found was to add an exclusion to the profile folder on my windows security antivirus. Now I can select emails from the imbox and delete them without a problem, but my concern is if I will be vulnerable to virus.

If you have configured and edited the software from windows itself as you write then if a second party software is installed for example one of your security software's again this security will disconnect itself from these functions. And automatically run the new program. If you remove this software protection from your PC, you can use it from your Windows again.

It's not because these steps in setting security features and remembering features will do you any good that you'll have these troubled versions.

There will indeed be other topics that influence the party for the slowing software and or pc.

Here is what I did, I went to my windows antivirus (windows security) and added an exclusion. C:\Documents and Settings\(Windows User name)\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\. My concern is: Am I vulnerable to getting virus from Thunderbird?

I have the same issue after upgrade to Supernova 115.3.1 (64-bit). When i delete an email, it now takes longer time. I use windows security. I had removed my anti virus software sometime back as it was blocking my windows 11 boot.

Dear firefox volunteer,

Could you please elaborate on your answer? I do not completely understand. I have the same problem ever since moving to a new laptop and Supernova. Deleting a bunch of selected emails always was somewhat slow, but now it takes minutes. I'm running Thunderbird as superuser and should not have any issues with permissions - as far as I know.
