Thunderbird not downloading emails

I was collecting emails on Thunderbird when the Virgin email server went down. I now have an indication that there is an unread message within one of my inbox folders but no message there. The message has modest attachments. Thunderbird now seems to be locked searching for the rest of that message and unable to move on to the next message in the inbox. I have received the offending message and subsequent ones on my Android phone and in the Windows Mail app. Seems like I somehow need to delete this message from the queue somehow. Any suggestions please ?

I would try deleting from your online access to the account.

Thanks David., I had already tried that. Thunderbird is still locked/frozen. I have got out an older laptop which has Thunderbird and is currently synching with the server. Obviously after several months of disuse that is taking some time but it has already downloaded some more recent emails. I think I might have to delete and reinstall Thunderbird.

If Thunderbird appears frozen, a reboot may suffice, as reinstalling rarely fixes issues.

Do people really post questions on here without having tried a reboot first ? I'm afraid have already tried that as well. It looks as if I may simply have to look for another e-mail client.

We get all kinds. All the best to you.
