Make "show results as list" the default when searching

I find the default view when searching for a keyword very overwhelming. There's a button that translates "show results as list" (my language is German) which leads to a much better view of the emails containing the key word. How can I make it the default search view? Thanks!

It ought to become an option. It might make it easier for those migrating from other clients to search.

I used to complain about this too until I found the quick filter. What I do now is I just use the search tool to find really old stuff, but the quick filter is much easier.

I have the same issue, one of the most annoying things with thunderbird and it didn't get fixed in the new Thunderbird 115.

I also would love to see an option for list view of the search results.
