Thunderbird Mail Trash Function
I have recently started to use Thunderbird Mail. It is connected to my gmail account. I noticed that Thunderbird doesn't place into its Trash any mail that I have already trashed in my gmail account, and vice versa. I would like to synchronize trashing.

Okay, my inference is you want to keep the IMAP account. In that case, all you need to do is - highlight the POP account in left pane, right-click and select 'settings' - scroll down to 'Account Actions, select 'remove account' and press Enter key. That will do it.

Check your settings for trash in the account. It may be that you have set Thunderbird to use a different folder.
I have what it looks like 2 accounts. One of them is (IMAP), the other isn't. The first one looks like working properly. Now I have to lose the other one.
Do you need assistance in this? My inference is you do not since you seem to have identified your issue.
Yes, if you don't mind. I am still receiving messages in both inboxes. One is synchronized with my gmail inbox and the other isn't. I would like to delete the second inbox.
