The archive is getting pretty large. TB is installed with all mail on an SSD. But the archive could be on a secondary disc. Any way to conveniently do this? thx,

One option that is easy would be to move Local Folders to another drive and then add a folder 'archive' there. that would set the stage to select it for archiving. Since local folders already exist, a safe move would be to - exit TB - in file explorer, COPY the Local Folders to the other drive. - start TB, select tools>accountsettings>localfolders and change pointer to the other drive. - once everything is stable and working, you could then (in file explorer) delete the original local folders. - you would need to remember this, as part of your profile would now be outside of it.

I might be missing something. Doesn't 'this move all email to the secondary location??

Whatever is now in Local Folders. If email folders are there now, then yes. I use IMAP, so it would be a minor item for me. The advantage is that it's easy, but that may not be sufficient for your purpose.
