Thunderbird On Multiple Machines
I have been using Thunderbird on a MacBook for about three years and have many filters, etc. I recently purchased another MacBook and would like to use the existing profile, filters, calendar, etc. Is there a way to configure this using my iCloud drive.
Thanks, Frank

Everything you mentioned is in the profile. Copy that to the new machine and it should be identical.
That's not the question I asked. I'd like to have both machines kept in sync by using my iCloud directory as the common repository for the Thunderbird configuration files.
I don't know where profiles.ini is on a MAC. In Windows, Thunderbird looks at c:\users\<yourID>\appdata\roaming\thunderbird\profiles.ini for the location of the profile. It is a simple text file. If you set that file for each machine, it should work. The safest way to do that is with profile manager. start thunderbird with the -p parameter. Again, I don't know how to do that on a Mac.
I forgot one potential issue to remind you of: the fact that Thunderbird profiles are not downward-compatible. That is, after upgrading one machine to a new version of Thunderbird, the other machine may corrupt the profile when run. The solution, as I see it, would be to always upgrade the second machine offline. That's no guarantee, but it's my best guess.
