Can't change password

I can view my existing password but when I edit it to change it the new password is typed in and change saved but can no longer access email. Program is closed then reopened, computer is shut down then restarted but to no avail. HELP!!! Please. Thank you. Kevin

I am not understanding. Generally, if the password is incorrect, there is a prompt to enter the correct one. What happens when you start TB and attempt to connect?

Hello, I want to change my password. I call up the dialog box, edit password, save and close, close Thunderbird and restart but can't log in with the new password. Thank you.

You must change your password on the server (translation: website access). All Thunderbird does is submit your password to the server.
