TB 102 - question on address book contact layout

BillH replied
BillH

In a recent announcement there was a image of a new layout for contacts in the address book in version 102. I have attached the image I am referring to.

For the life of me I can not figure out how to display this layout.

Can someone explain to me how to view this layout?

Thanks, Bill

I just figured it out.

The buttons only appear if the address book entry contains an email address. It happened that the entry I had picked didn't have one. If I select one that has an email address, the buttons are fine.

I didn't see my attachment on my original message so I'm trying again.

EDIT:

Still don't see the attachment. Here is a link to the image on Imggur:

How does your address book layout look like? Please post a screenshot.

Thanks for the reply. This is what mine looks like.

The image in the announcement shows two columns of info and the "buttons" Write, Event, and Search.

I do not have those buttons. I also only have one column. If the entry gets a lot of info it just gets longer with a scroll bar. It never goes to two columns.

I now understand why I only have one column. If I make the window wider it changes to 2 columns.

This doesn't explain why I don't have those buttons. They don't appear if I restart in Troubleshooting mode either.

Any ideas on how to make them appear?

Bill

The buttons do exist here. What exact version of Thunderbird are you running?
