yes, my mistake. I have this problem. I tried to add this ieee mail to thunderbird. Then the message "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account" doesn't allow me to log in. I attached a screenshot. Is there any solutions?

Thunderbird is preprogrammed with many common email providers' email settings, but not all. In your case, check with the ieee website to get the email settings you need: incoming server, smtp server, port numbers, and any security settings. A websearch for 'ieee email settings' may be all that is needed.

yep, i asked the IEEE help support center. Gmail manages the IEEE mails. the IMAP configuration has to be enabled. For more details, "How do I enable IMAP on my GoogleApps@IEEE account?" has the instructions.
