Hello, how to prevent the MOUSE POINTER from changing to a HAND? And how to prevent it from changing size, shape and color when in Firefox? I understand they know better what I want, but still...

Unlike most of you, I don't have a PhD in Computer Science, and have no idea what a CSS file is, where it is located, and how to edit it. So if you got a simple step-by-step solution, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! Alex

Hi Alex, websites (and Firefox itself) may change the arrow to a hand when you hover over links and buttons in a page. You want to override that so the mouse pointer icon never changes? Or are you seeing a situation where the mouse pointer is changing even over normal text?

As far as "size, shape and colour" are concerned, if you are using KDE you may have to configure mouse settings so that GTK applications (like Firefox) use the same mouse pointer as KDE applications. Seek help from your distro or, if not available, I can point to a post on mine.

The pointer changes first on the Firefox browser - it becomes smaller and darker. Then it turns into a hand on the links only.
I wanted to show it, but screenshot doesn't capture the pointer (I guess, it feels guilty about its misbehavior, and hides the evidences ;-)

Thanks!

Hey Terry, yes, please, point me to your post. May be I will even know what's KDE and GTK. Although this wasn't on my agenda. Thanks!

You would know if you are using KDE. It is a desktop environment. If you aren't using it, the information is irrelevant.
