Hi there I am having ongoing issues with Thunderbird - it will not download all emails from the server Bluehost which I need to do before migrating to another server. I am attempting to download all emails but it will not work and I keep getting a 'thunderbird has timed out' message. The full cache is 17 gig - is this the reason it will not download? Thunderbird is also not saving any sent messages that have an attachment, so I am loosing records of outgoing emails. I have paid for an IT / computer technician to resolve this but they have been unsuccessful. Can anyone please help asap?

download emails how? Most hosting providers offer a migration path that will migrate mail directly with the domain name. No mail client involved. Have you asked you new provider about migration help or tools?

Hi Matt thanks for your feedback - its not the migration that's the issue, its the fact that I can't get Thunderbird to download everything that's still on the server, before the migration. I'm guessing it may be because there is over 15gig of combined in box and out box emails maybe?

Have you created a POP or IMAP mail account in Thunderbird?

Please provide some info - When you view emails in the webmail account accessed via a browser - Do you have everything you have ever received in the 'Inbox' or do you have other folders used to organise received emails ? I'm assuming all emails you sent are stored in the 'Sent Mail' folder (It might be called 'Sent' or similar).
