When does Thunderbird training for junk email filtering go into effect?
Hello. I have been using Thunderbird for a while now and have consistently marked which emails are junk. When will Thunderbird finally act, sensing which incoming emails are not junk and which are junk? Thank you!

It usually only takes a couple of weeks to be pretty good. Did you set up the 'Account Settings' > 'Junk Settings' for each mail account ?
This is where you can set up your address books as whitelists ? If no or not sure, I suggest you make sure all is correct.
When training the Junk Controls it is just as important to tell Thunderbird what is not junk. This may seem obvious if email is in the Junk/Spam folder, but it does apply to emails in the Inbox that are good as well.

note: under 'Destination and Retention' If you have a POP account then use 'Junk folder on ' and choose 'pop mail account name'. If you have an Imap account then use 'Other' and choose 'Spam on imap mail account name'.
