Hello,

starting with thunderbird verson 91.0.x written messages remain in the folder "Drafts" after successful sending them!

Since I have a sufficiently fast connection to the Internet, it cannot be a problem of the connection speed! It cannot be due to the email provider (Google.com) either, as it does not happen on my smartphone with an other email client.

I think this is a bug in thunderbird that annoys me as I have to delete them every time after sending.

Did somebody make the same experience?

Thanks in advance, Michael

See KeithR in this post about Gmail duplicating drafts - see the last entry in the thread with the pictures. https://support.google.com/mail/thread/14985877/how-to-make-gmail-stop-accumulating-drafts-and-delete-drafts-for-sent-emails?hl=en Gmail is a bit tricky as it does some things in an unusual non-standard IMAP way. So try looking at the settings KeithR illustrates and change them to prevent Thunderbird from saving a second draft, and let Gmail deal with deleting drafts. Let us know what works!

I use google, I have no problem. So I suggest you try some of the more mundane things like restart in troubleshoot mode and see if you have a bad addon.

I've tried your suggestion: The problem persists in troubleshooting mode (without any extensions) also...

Hello AgnesRM,

These settings mean that the messages in the Drafts folder are not cached at all, but I prefer them to numerous copies that I have to delete over and over again.

Thank you for your advice and help!

Kind Regards, Michael
