Run most or all of the listed free to use malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Are you opening Firefox using a shortcut? Right-click the shortcut and select Properties.

Make sure the Target box only has the path to the browser and no links at the end. Example; "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox_Current\firefox.exe"

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
