Unable to move messages back to Inbox when they were accidently moved to another folder.
I have used "filters" forever but, Thunderbird's filters leave me frustrated! All I was trying to do was move messages from a particular sender in the Inbox to a selected folder. Somehow or another everything in my Inbox was moved. Now I can't move the messages back to the Inbox. The more I try different things the more screwed up things get. There are too many little things in Thunderbird that nobody knows about that makes it very difficult to use. I'm starting to regret donating money to Thunderbird.

Can I assume you opened 'Message Filters' and created a filter and then ran that filter on the Inbox ?
You have probably created a filter which contained conditions which stated to move everything to X folder. You would need to post an image of the filter you created, so it can be examined.
It would also be helpful if you could post an image of the Filter Logs.
Regarding the 'Inbox' - is this an IMAP account or POP account inbox? Did all the emails get moved to another folder within the same account OR did they moved to a folder in the 'Local Folders' mail account?
You cannot blame Thunderbird if it was your action which caused the problem, but we do need to see the filter you used so we can find out what happened, why it happened and offer advise on what you needed to do to achieve the result you desire. Please note donations to Thunderbird also fix security issues and go towards running this Support Forum, it does cost to run a website even if all those helping to answer questions are other users freely volunteering their time to help others. So your donations are appreciated.
