Login problems to IMAP server
Often can't log on to my IMAP email account at mail.optonline.net. "Login to mailserver xxxx.xxxxxx.xxx with username yyy failed." Sometimes it does work, but only after a long time and very laggy. Username and password and other settings are correct - checked and double checked. How do I fix it? This is a recent issue. Thanks!

do you have an anti virus that might be scanning mail or internet connections?
Yes, I use Avast Premium security. My T-bird program also auto-updated to 91.1.1 and has not been able to regularly login to the IMAP server, I believe, ever since. The program worked flawlessly before. Not being a tech wiz, and at age 82, I lack the background to solve this issue. Any help appreciated!
BTW, I tried turning off Avast temporarily, and still can't log in to the IMAP server.
