Emails Marked As Junk Not Removing from Inbox

Hi There,

I have a friend who uses Thunderbird for their business. Lately, whenever they mark an email as Junk - nothing happens. They'll click on: Tools -> Delete Mail Marked As Junk in Folder = emails are marked out, a red 'X' in a circle appears next to the email, but it remains in the Inbox. They can still click on the email in the inbox folder and it will still be able to opened as normal from the inbox folder. I don't use Thunderbird myself, so I'm unsure how exactly this feature is meant to work. Any help / advice please?

Thanks!

Mike

Sounds like they have turned on mark deleted message rather than move to trash etc in account settings. This is a recommendation from Google, but goes against most peoples expectation of how things should happen when they delete something. Basically because the deleted mail is still visible until an IMAP purge occurs on shutdown of Thunderbird.
