Hi there,

thank you for posting on the forum!

There is a known issue with Android where the VPN is not connecting. This will be fixed with version 2.5, which is planned to launch next week (mid-September 2021).

A temporary workaround for this issue is to enable the "Always-on VPN" option and then restarting your device.

To enable the "Always-on VPN" feature go to Settings > Connections > More connection settings > VPN > click on the gear icon at the right of Mozilla VPN > turn on the Always-on VPN toggle. Finally, go ahead and restart your device, once it turns on again, the VPN will automatically connect without any issues.

Thanks for the information, I suspected something like that, and I am happy to wait for the next release

I just signed up for Mozilla VPN today (11/3/21) and installed version 2.5.1 from the Google Play Store on my Android (version 8.1) tablet, and guess what?

I have exactly the same problem! It hangs at "Attempting to confirm connection" for about a minute, and then goes back to the "off" setting.

Looks like this wasn't fixed in the 2.5 release after all.

I signed up for Mozilla VPN yesterday (11/16/2021). Mozilla VPN Windows worked immediately. Installed VPN 2.5.1 (from Playstore) on Android 8 and it doesn't connect on Android ("attempting to confirm connection" and then fails). I used the workaround which works, and I am OK with that.
