Thunderbird 91.0: Error generated when setting up local IMAP accounts

Thunderbird 91.0 64-bit on Linux Mint 20.2 Uma.

Connecting to gmail email accounts went fine, but setting up two IMAP accounts on a locally-hosted server resulted in the error message in the attached picture. This was after the config was greenlit/tested as OK.

The workaround was to select 'Advanced settings', which announced that the account would be created even if the settings weren't correct and then closing that screen.
