Some websites use JavaScript to process the password in a way that causes Firefox to show the update dialog. This would overwrite the correct password. You can create a login block exception to prevent Firefox from showing this dialog. You can inspect and edit the password in Lockwise (about:logins) to ensure that the correct password is stored.
