I'm trying to set up a Primary Password for Lockwise. I followed the directions and every time it gives me an error. "Unable to change Primary password." But there is no primary password set up. (as you can see from the screenshots). I haven't been able to access my saved passwords because of this. And I only had the mindspace recently to try to crack it.

Honestly, I like the old system better. You could have just added a syncing option on top of the old system, but instead, you did this and it doesn't work in terms of UX layout--you have to go to a separate menu to get it to work, and then you have to read instructions, which to me, is a UX fail. Granted, I'm super annoyed it's not as simple as the last one, but was it really that hard to add an opt out of cloud capability or just add on a cloud capability with it? Like "check offt cloud capability" instead of making it more complex than it has to be with multiple windows and reading instructions.

I have been using Firefox for ages and have had no problems with it or with Lockwise when it was introduced. Suddenly, this morning, when I tried to login to a favorite website, it didn't populate the login boxes. When I checked my list of saved logins, I found the entire list empty. Absolutely empty. I didn't upgrade Firefox (currently using version 83.0 on Windows 10 PC). Following the advice from several search results and even the support forum. I was going to copy logins.json and key4.db from the old Firefox Data folder, when I saw that the file dates were form Jan 2020. I have changed many passwords since (due to a hack of my facebook and Ebay acoounts), so that file is outdated. I tried to sync my firefox account, but discovered that I had never actually created a firefox account, so I cannot do that. I have no idea what happened to it.

All other settings seem to be okay and all my saved bookmarks are still there.

I use lockwise for all my passwords because I use strong passwords that’s impossible to remember. I remember the password for my lockwise/Mozilla account but I don’t remember the password for my email. I need lockwise to get in my email but I need those verification numbers that they email you to get into lockwise... is there anyway I can get into my lockwise by avoiding that 2fa email? The email I need my password for has all my important accounts (banks school etc) linked to it so I can’t risk losing it and I can’t get into it using password reset because they don’t offer it unless you linked a recovery email (i did not or removed it because I was getting rid of useless emails and this would be my new main email) I emailed them already requesting a password reset but even if they do it would wipe out all the mail (inbox spam trash etc)

The only thing I can do is hope either Mozilla or protonmail can get me into either of my accounts because if I can get into lockwise I’d be able to get into my email and vice versa.

I wasn’t able to find a way to email support everything kept taking me back here so sorry if this is not the place to request help.

Multiple profiles for accounts.google.com

Steps that I took

  1. Re-installed pc
  2. Download FF
  3. Sign in and sync logins and passwords from Lockwise
  4. Change password of one of my work google profile (I use 3 in total) - from custom password to random generated one

Result is:

  1. Password of my work google profile did not get updated in Lockwise - now I can't login into that profile
  2. Password for my school google profile got removed

I recovered the deleted school profile from my phone before it got synced. I have no way to recover the random generated password for my work profile.

So in short you completely deleted one of the stored credentials and did not update the other one. If this has happened to my personal google profile that is used as recovery for all others, this would have prevented me from resetting *any* password I use.

In my opinion this is MAJOR fuck up on side of Lockwise. This is password manager that is advertised to offer more secure way of storing passwords and replace them with auto generated once. But in practice it is one more way to loose access to your credentials.

I can't describe my frustration with this shit show, I intend to move away from Lockwise and recommend to everyone do the same.
