Is there a button I can add to TBird to check mail?

a few months ago someone said to hit F5, but that's never brought in any mail for me.

Chosen solution

Open TB Tools/Add-ons, in the 'Find more add-ons' box type get all mail 78. In the new tab, the relevant add-on is the first result, click Add to Thunderbird.

F5 gets messages for the currently selected account, Shift+F5 for all accounts.

This add-on provides a button: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/get-all-mail-button-for-tb78/

OK downloaded that first one but when I open it I get this?? I opened TBird and don't see that button anywhere.

do I need an app to open / install it now?

Right on that did it,

thanks for the hep!

SF one question for you. I installed the Get All Mail. When I click it should I see anything in the TBid window, like a brief flash or anything else? I ask because when I was using the F5 to check mail I saw a brief flash bottom left of the window.

just want to make sure it's working.

i haven't tested the add-on, but you can see if it's working by comparing with the standard F5 and Shift+F5 commands.

yeah that's why I'm asking because doing the F5 I see that brief flash, but nothing with that Get All Mail. If it isn't working I'd like to try somethig else.

Flash or no flash, does one method fail to get new mail?

Actually F5 has never brought in mail but maybe that's because there wasn't any mail to bring in right then, same with this new app I'm trying out
