URL in bottom corners of Firefox windows will not go away

more options

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could instruct me on how to get rid of these annoying URLs that keep popping up in the bottom left and right corners of my Firefox windows whenever I hover the mouse over images and texts. I think I accidentally hit 2 keys in an order that turned this "feature" on. I'm not tech savvy at all so I really need some help here.

Showing the URL on hover is normal. Back in the day, there was a fixed status bar along the bottom of the browser where status messages appeared. When the status bar was retired, the status messages were left to float over the document body.

As far as I know, there is no built-in way to disable status messages, but there is a community supported approach using custom style rules in a userChrome.css file. If you didn't see these until recently, perhaps you recall creating a userChrome.css file in the past?
