I have used Thunderbird's filters feature for years. I recently got a new computer. I set up and continued to use the Filters feature in Thunderbird. Now I can suddenly no longer add anything to my list of what is to be filtered. I have never run into this before, and I can't find the reason this is happening. I have just one Filter Log, to be applied to my IN box.

What kind of filter is this? If it's a long list of From + is + <email address>, there might be a limit to the number of entries. It's usually better in this case to create an address book with the filtered contacts and change the rule to From + is in my address book + <address book>. Try enabling the filter log and see if it indicates the reason for it not working.

Thanks for you reply. In the past, there has never been a limit on the number of entries for a simple filter on the IN box. The filter is set up for "March Any of the Following". I am simply unable to add a new entry to the list.

I'm not sure what the limit is, but a number of users report issues with filters with many lines:

How many entries are in your filter? It should be easy to find the point at which new entries stop being added.
