I can't open any page or even preferences -- blank page shows up (Ubuntu)
Since today I see a blank page when I open firefox. Everything was working ok before. I tried to purge firefox with all data and install again but the problem persists. I also tried to use firefox 85 and 86 from the website rather than from the apt-get package but this also didn't help. The same happens in safe-mode. I can't even access preferences, passwords, and other built-in pages. Please see the screenshot attached. I'm on Ubuntu 18.04.
When I close firefox it runs in the background and I have to kill the process manually.
Not having access to passwords is by far the most frustrating part in it.

Hi
Do you see error messages or warnings if you start Firefox via a terminal window ?
Hi! There are no errors or warnings on start. When I close it, it doesn't close the process in the terminal, but if I wait ~15 sec I get:
[Parent 14431, IPC I/O Parent] WARNING: FileDescriptorSet destroyed with unconsumed descriptors: file /build/firefox-jHEl1G/firefox-86.0+build3/ipc/chromium/src/chrome/common/file_descriptor_set_posix.cc:19 [Parent 14431, IPC I/O Parent] WARNING: FileDescriptorSet destroyed with unconsumed descriptors: file /build/firefox-jHEl1G/firefox-86.0+build3/ipc/chromium/src/chrome/common/file_descriptor_set_posix.cc:19 ... (repeated many times)
and at the very end:
