How do I remove an obsolete email account from Thunderbird

How do I remove an obsolete email account from Thunderbird

Chosen solution

If you remove the account, you will not be able to see any emails you may still have in that account, so if you have emails then get copies of them into Local Folders mail account first.

Right click on mail account name in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' Account Settings window opens make sure the correct account name is selected. click on 'Account Actions' and select 'Remove Account'
