How can I migrate from Sea Monkey's email client to Thunderbird, including importing all my old emails?

How can I migrate from Sea Monkey's email client to Thunderbird, including importing all my old emails?

Chosen solution

The SeaMonkey profile folder is practically the same as that of TB. In SM, Help/Troubleshooting, click the Open Folder button to open the profile folder, close SM. Do the same in TB: Help/Troubleshooting, Profile Folder, Open Profile, close TB. Delete the contents of the TB profile folder (not the folder itself) and paste in the contents of the SM profile folder. Start TB, and you should see your data the same as in SM.

use the import export tools addon to import the mail. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools-ng/?src=ss

This didn't really help. The import export addon is not very intuitive, and there don't seem to be any instructions on how to use it.

Thank you. This worked a treat, as far as I can see. All emails and address book look OK, and who cares about the rest?
