to make backup/COPY of emails in Thunderbird=TB (an email client/access software) , you may see the answers/solutions here.

backup/COPY all of the TB-profile sub-folders from below location , into your Desktop or where you want to: "%APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\" in newer Windows that is usually equals to: "C:\Users\<WindowsUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\"

copy/backup that "Profiles" folder : ...\Thunderbird\Profiles\
