When I look at the date or received fields in my mailboxes or inbox, as well as in the bar right above a message, I see things that look like:

Thu, 12/8, 14:22

What I want is the year and time, i.e., 12/8/16, 14:22 .

I've tried the two alternatives in options/general/date and time formatting (both locales are en-us), and neither affects any of this.

It doesn't affect sorting, that works correctly, so I know the date is there somewhere, it is just a frustrating display issue.

Thanks,

Glenn

Chosen solution

The date formatting is taken from the settings used by your computer. So you need to access: Date & time settings Then under 'Related setting' click on 'Date Time and Regional Settings' Under 'Regional format data' You can see the formatting being used by computer. Is the short date only displaying the day and month ? If yes, click on 'Change data formats' Select the desired short date option.
