How to eliminate the ugly -- above the signature
Somehow, the software inserts an ugly:
--
above my signature bug even though it has not been configured to do so. I have revised the signature a few times but nevertheless, the software persists in this behavior.
How does one eliminate the -- line above the signature?

For TB 78, Options/General/Indexing/Config. editor.
The separator makes replies to your messages omit the signature.

That does it, thanks. Google and site-specific search had nothing on point.
I really can't think of any defensible reason why there would need to be those ugly, out of place hyphens and not have a standard check-box control in the signature options to turn it off - It truly beggars belief.
Why would the default be "badly presented messages," whilst the option to improve the situation is hidden away? O_o *facepalm*
Bad idea, Mozilla.
The options were in a slightly different place in my TB v68.10.0 (64-bit):
1. Click 'Edit'; 2. Click 'Preferences...'; 3. Click on 'Advanced' on the left-hand list; 4. Click on 'Config Editor' button, bottom-right; 5. Accept the 'risk' lol; 5. Search for signature; 6. Double-click on 'mail.identity.default.suppress_signature_separator' to toggle the setting; 7. Normal e-mails!
