I've noticed a couple of times (while signing in to my amazon account) that my location is showing a location overseas, like "near Romania", when I've selected "Miami.. That seems suspicious as to how secure/private my connection actually is.. Can someone explain why that happens, and is it safe?

thanks, t

Hello,

Thank you for following up with me and sorry for the confusion,

Some IP checking services look at something like the server registration to determine its location and some of our servers are registered in Romania, despite the servers being in the correct regions. We're gathering information about this to let our server hosts know about the issue and see if it's something we can resolve in the future. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I hope you may find this helpful, and please let me know if you need anything else.

Hello,

Amazon might be pulling your location data from GPS or Historical data. Try clearing your browser's cookies and cache, this could solve the issue.

Thank you. I keep my location services turned off except for apps that require it to function. As far as cache goes, i believe i have my devices set to clear them regularly. It's interesting that the locations (I have not selected) have been eastern bloc nations..
