A recent Thunderbird update changed my email window settings. How do I establish settings to restore my ability to open an email window that already has open boxes for cc: and bcc?

The auto selected option to display cc and Bcc is still under developement after people reported it as a bug report. So I believe this is something in the pipeline.

Workaround: In Account Settings > 'Copies & Folders' Select the two checkboxes to enable Cc and Bcc and enter your own email address.

This will force the Cc and Bcc to display. Yes it will show your email address. At this point you either delete your email address or just leave it displayed as it only means you will get send a copy.
