FORWARD BUTTON IN THUNDERBIRD

I've recently changed to a new PC but the newly installed Thunderbird is not allowing me to forward any E Mails to anyone. When I click the E Mail and go to forward, the SEND button becomes grayed out. I've tried opening in safe mode, but making no difference. Does anyone have any ideas?

The 'Send' button is always greyed out until you actually enter a valid email address in the 'TO' field.
