My Thunderbird just updated recently, and the new version of the emoticons are really ugly (sorry to say), especially the smile emoticon, which looks really bizarre. How can I either revert to the former iteration, or add some simple smiley faces, frown-y faces, etc.? (I am referring to when I am writing an email, and I want to insert an emoticon into the email.) Thanks & much appreciation!

Windows 10 has an extensive emoji selection, and a quick search option. Press the Windows key (between Ctrl and Alt) and . (period).

Thank you. I didn't know I could insert those emoticons into my emails, nor did I know how to access the ones on Windows (which I see when I'm using Messenger). You've taught me something new. Much appreciation!

I really don’t understand why to fix unbroken things, correctly working from the beginning of the computer science era. I kindly invite you to restore the originals. Kind regards, Mario. :) :) :-) :-) forever.

https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emoticon seems to have good explanations. Thanks

Having the doubt that my previous post could be read the wrong way, I would like to be more precise: I totally agree with the OP, I do not like the new smile emoji. I also do not understand why a TB user should use Windows 10 emoji or add ons, when TB was simply ok before. Kind regards.

Agreed. I like the autocorrected :) one gets in Word etc.
